Pacific National Coal


Pacific National Coal is one of two national coal rail haulage operators in Australia. 

Pacific National Coal operates rail haulage services for the export and domestic coal markets in New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

The majority of coal hauled from the Hunter Valley in New South Wales is thermal coal destined for Asia and primarily used in power generation, while in Queensland, Pacific National hauls predominantly coking coal destined for export steel mills in Asia.

As at 30 June 2011, Pacific National Coal has approximately 80 per cent of the coal haulage market in New South Wales and 13 per cent of the coal haulage market in Queensland.
